General/Business Unit Manager (CEO & General Management) Full time MOVe Freight, part of the MOVe Logistics Group (NZX and ASX listed), is searching for a results-oriented individual to step into the senior role of General Manager - Freight & Fuel . You will be leading a team of 500+ people, significant assets, and profit responsibilities. About the role: This full-time role is based in Auckland. This is a pivotal role in the MOVe Senior Executive Leadership team where you will oversee the strategic and commercial direction and operational excellence of its freight and fuel business units and groupwide fleet and property management. This includes: 17 freight branches nationwide 13 fuel terminals nationwide 1100+ fleet nationwide 30+ properties nationwide You will be responsible for developing and refining a strategy to grow profitable market share, expanding the customer base, and increasing their market share whilst nurturing existing customer relationships and being fiscally prudent. You are a strategic thinker who is people-focused and results-oriented with a track record of driving business growth and achieving revenue targets. Key Responsibilities: Financial Turnaround: Analyse current financial performance and identify key areas for improvement. Develop and implement a comprehensive turnaround plan focusing on revenue enhancement, cost reduction, and continuous improvement. Delivery: You are energised by delivery and possess the ability to think big picture and inspire those around you but know what Best-in-Class looks like and how to operationalise it. Market Analysis: Understand our supply chain industry and use your knowledge and insightful approach to identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, and use insights to inform decision-making and execute optimisation and transformational action. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive financial, commercial, and operational strategies to drive business growth and achieve revenue targets. Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Team Leadership: Provide leadership, guidance, and support to our national freight, fuel, fleet, and property managers to ensure alignment with MOVe's objectives and goals. Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress against targets, analyse performance data, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement. Operational Excellence: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operational processes, improve efficiency, and enhance our service delivery offerings. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards, as well as exceeding our safety standards and best practices. Requirements: You will be an experienced executive in the freight and logistics sector, with a broad set of business competencies and advanced problem-solving skills. In addition, you will have: High levels of commercial acumen with the ability to demonstrate strategic thinking. A sound ability with business negotiation, partnership, and customer relationship development. A track record of leading a business through periods of change. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a knack for engaging stakeholders at all levels. Successfully led diverse teams who deliver and be committed to their development.
