If so, this role of General Manager Community Experience could be for you! This position is dedicated to driving the Council's customer and community value initiatives by delivering exceptional, customer-focused experiences that promote community health, wellbeing, and social engagement. Key responsibilities include overseeing open spaces, aquatic and recreation centres, libraries, the exhibition centre, as well as the museum and research facilities. The role also involves leading strategic planning and fostering partnerships to maximize the impact of these facilities and other opportunities as hubs for community wellbeing and enjoyment. Responsibilities include:Collaborating actively with other executive team members to shape and implement strategies for the development and delivery of the Long-Term Plan (LTP) and Annual Plan.Driving the creation and execution of innovative, realistic, and measurable strategies specific to the portfolio.Leading the design and implementation of the Council's community experience commitment, ensuring consistently high-quality interactions across all portfolio services.Tracking and analysis of portfolio performance metrics, such as resident satisfaction surveys, and adjusting strategies to address changing needs and challenges.Fostering and maintaining strong strategic relationships with external stakeholders, including iwi, hapu, community groups, service providers, contractors, and government agencies.Ko wai koe | About youThe background required for this role includes:A University degree qualification in a relevant field such as business or management.10 years+ leadership experience, in a large Local or Central Government organisation.Proven experience of planning and delivering successfully in a multi-channel, multi-site customer-facing environment.An understanding of the political, economic and regulatory environment applicable to New Zealand local authorities, including Te Tiriti o Waitangi – the Treaty of Waitangi.You will receive access to a range of staff benefits including five weeks' annual leave and flexible working arrangements.
