This is an exciting and impactful role, and you'll demonstrate your leadership skills and experience in the 'machinery of government'. The Ministerial and Executive Services Group (MaES) provides high quality support to the Chief Executive and Leadership Team and manages MSD's support of Ministerial offices.Mo te tunga| About the roleAs the GM, MaES, you will provide leadership of the MaES Group and management team, and across the Ministry, in the release of Ministry information and the provision of support to the Chief Executive, Ministers, and Parliament. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive, Organisational Assurance & Communication (OAC), your key responsibilities include:Leading the provision of replies to all Ministerial, Parliamentary Questions, Official Information Act requests, Ombudsman and Privacy Commissioner complaints and correspondence for the Chief Executive.Leading the Ministry's governance functions, to ensure there is appropriate support and advice to the Leadership Team, governance committees, and the wider organisation on governance matters.Providing high quality advice on strategies and issues that relate to the Ministry's reputation and its accountability to Parliament and the public, including the management of select committee engagement through Annual Review and Estimates processes.Overseeing and monitoring the Review of Decision and Benefits Review Committee processes and relationship with beneficiary advocates and Community Law Centres o Aotearoa.Leading a programme of training, guidance, and advice to improve performance and capability across the Ministry.Ko nga mea ka hiahiatia e koe kia angitu | What you'll need to succeed.You will have substantial senior leadership experience and an intimate knowledge of what it takes to drive outcomes through teams of people.
