This volunteer role will help our guests feel comfortable during their stay by carrying general maintenance and gardening jobs around the building. This may include
. Changing lightbulbs
. Maintaining outdoor furniture
. General gardening such as weeding and pruning
. Small paint jobs
. Tidying up the patio area
As a volunteer with us, you will be part of a much-valued and supported team. You will also experience first hand the work of the Cancer Society in the Waikato and feel satisfied that you are making a valuable contribution to the community
Requirements: A can-do attitude. An ability to handle small but necessary repairs and maintenance of the building both inside and outside. Be able to interact with people from a wide variety of backgrounds. Organized and be able to respect the privacy of our guests.
A Police background check is required for this role.
Time commitment: Several hours once a week. Any day between Monday and Friday
