Wolfbrook Property Group – Addington, South IslandWolfbrook Property Group is a dynamic and growing property development company with further interests in finance and capital. As we expand, we are seeking a highly skilled General Counsel to join our leadership team at our modern head office in Christchurch.As General Counsel, you will provide strategic legal advice to support the company's operations. You will oversee all legal matters, liaise with our external legal advisors, ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks, and mitigate legal risks.Key Responsibilities:Provide expert legal advice on commercial and property law issues, including development agreements, leasing, acquisitions and financing.Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal documents, including contracts, purchase agreements, and joint venture agreements.Ensure legal compliance with local and national regulations, including property and environmental law, planning consents, and health & safety legislation.Oversee dispute resolution and litigation matters, including managing external legal counsel when necessary.Identify and manage legal risks to minimize exposure and ensure Wolfbrook's interests are protected.Advise the executive team and board on internal, legal strategy and corporate governance matters.Manage intellectual property, confidentiality agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.Manage external legal advisors ensuring Wolfbrook receives high standards of legal services across the organization.Key Skills & Experience:A qualified lawyer with at least 8-10 years of post-qualification experience, preferably with a strong background in commercial and property law.Extensive experience in handling property transactions, development projects, and corporate law.Strong understanding of New Zealand property law and regulatory requirements.Experience in negotiating and drafting complex legal agreements.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.What We Offer:Competitive salary and benefits package.Opportunity to work in a growing and dynamic company.Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth.Modern office facilities located in Christchurch.
