We're looking for a Qualified Gardener for our Street Landscapes team.

For this role, you must have: The minimum of a New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture Services (Level 3) Amenity or similar qualification A Grow Safe qualification would be advantageous Experience with Traffic management set ups and compliance along with the Traffic controller/ STMS qualification Current Full New Zealand Driver License Experience in the preparation and application of agrichemicals Knowledge and experience of the use and maintenance of general tools, plant and equipment Good understanding and experience to identify and control plant pests and diseases Good communication skills A solid work ethic and a willingness to work in all weathers An understanding of Health and Safety requirements working in this industry Good knowledge of amenity plants What's in it for me?

The role starts at $27.80 per hour but could be negotiated depending on experience and qualifications.

What does a day in this job look like?
Daily maintenance of street landscapes Supporting gardening activities across the city Assist the wider team at times This job is for you if you are: Open and honest – you have a good understanding of yourself and others around you and able to give and take feedback Someone who places great importance on maintaining their work relationships Versatile – able to fill in when other staff are away in the wider team and fill in for their Leading Hand at times Adaptive in thinking – able to adjust parks maintenance schedules accordingly Focused to detail and anticipate problems - has a flair for garden landscaping and is creative and confident in enhancing established gardens A great manager of time who is action-oriented, steady and reliable (It's also for you if you don't meet EVERY one of these points.
