About the role Reporting to the Team Manager and working closely with your teammates, you'll be responsible for maintaining gardens and green spaces within the Otautahi Community Housing Trust. Your duties will include planting, weeding, pruning, and vegetation control, as well as caring for bedding displays, rose gardens, borders, and shrubbery. You'll ensure all tasks are completed to a high standard, working to a well-organised schedule that prioritises the safety of residents, your team, and yourself.
Who We're Looking For Ideally, we'd love someone with hands-on gardening experience or a qualification in horticulture, but that's not essential. What really matters is having a solid work ethic, a passion for working outdoors, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in. Other qualities we seek include:
A full, current driver's licence with the ability to drive a manual vehicleA sense of responsibility and ownership over your work, while being a team player who's always ready to help your matesAn understanding of health and safety practices relevant to the jobGreat communication skills, with the ability to engage with the public if neededA motivated, can-do attitude, and the drive to see the job throughWhat we can offer you As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with other professionals, gain further knowledge and experience, and develop your career in horticulture.
