Position: Gardener Company: Huacheng NZ Recruitment Service Ltd Location: Auckland Weekly Hours of Work: 30-45 hours Pay Range: $25 to $30 per hour and review every 6 months In a commercial cleaning business, a gardener's main duties typically revolve around maintaining the outdoor aesthetics and functionality of a property. Here are some key responsibilities: Landscape Maintenance: This includes tasks like mowing lawns, trimming hedges, weeding, and pruning plants and trees to keep the outdoor spaces tidy and healthy. Plant Care: Gardeners are responsible for planting new flowers, bushes, and trees, and ensuring they are watered, fertilized, and free from pests and diseases. Grounds Cleaning : Beyond plant care, gardeners often manage the cleanliness of outdoor areas, which can include sweeping walkways, clearing debris from parking lots, and emptying outdoor trash bins. Garden Design: Some gardeners may also be involved in designing landscapes and garden layouts that enhance the visual appeal of the property. Irrigation Management: Maintaining and repairing irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage. Safety Checks: Ensuring that all outdoor areas are safe and free from hazards, such as checking for broken branches or uneven pathways, is crucial, especially in commercial settings. Equipment Maintenance: Gardeners also take care of the tools and equipment used in their work, from lawn mowers to hand tools, ensuring everything is in working order and stored properly. Environmental Practices: Implementing sustainable gardening practices, like using eco-friendly pesticides and optimizing water usage. Minimum Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: NZ Register Level 4 qualification in relevant area or at least three years of relevant experience Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Customer-oriented and friendly. Prioritization and time management skills. Working quickly without compromising quality.
