This is a rare opportunity to take charge of a project from its inception and shape its gameplay mechanics, narrative design, and art direction.
You will also oversee the development of an intertwined animated series, ensuring consistency and innovation across both mediums.The ideal candidate is a visionary leader with a passion for storytelling and gameplay innovation.Responsibilities:Develop and articulate a clear creative vision for the game, ensuring alignment with the original IP and studio goals.Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of designers, artists, programmers, and writers.Manage the entire development process, ensuring the project meets quality, budget, and timeline goals.Collaborate with department leads and production teams to solve complex issues and keep development on track.Provide direction on gameplay mechanics to ensure they are innovative and engaging.Oversee narrative development to create a rich, immersive story that enhances gameplay.Collaborate with the art director to ensure the visual style aligns with the creative vision.Oversee quality assurance to ensure a polished, stable, and high-quality product.Work closely with marketing and community teams to generate excitement and incorporate player feedback.Requirements:7+ years of experience in game development, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of successfully leading projects from concept to launch.Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide creative teams.Familiarity with game engines, tools, and production pipelines.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Passion for video games and a drive to create innovative and memorable gaming experiences.What We Offer:Competitive salary: $150,000 - $180,000 per yearBenefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.Opportunities to work in a dynamic and creative studio environment in Wellington, New Zealand.
