The Taranaki Rugby Football Union (TRFU) is looking for a Game Development Officer to join its nationally recognised community rugby team. The main objective of the Game Development Officer is to provide memorable experiences to tamariki, rangatahi, wahine and tane around the maunga. You will also work toward increasing the number of players and coaches involved in rugby in the Taranaki region through the organisation, co-ordination and delivery of rugby and coaching sessions within schools and clubs across the region. You will be tasked with implementing quality programmes that help maximise participation, assist coaches and provide memorable experiences to all stakeholders at all levels. You will also be asked to undertake any additional duties that may be required and participate in any team activities to achieve the overall objectives of the TRFU. You will facilitate relationships between our schools, clubs and community to ensure rugby is accessible for all. The TRFU's focus is to continue to establish ourselves as one of the leading rugby unions in the country. This following key skills and experience are desirable: Experience in a sport environment (preferably rugby), teaching and/or coaching. Relevant rugby coaching qualifications. English (strong written and verbal skills). Understanding of the club and school rugby environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent presentation and facilitation skills. Competent computer skills. Organised and attention to detail. A positive, enthusiastic, hardworking, professional and collaborative attitude. The ability to think on the run and problem solve. This is a varied role that will work supporting our Participation Manager and Coach/Game Development Manager. No two days will be the same, one day you could be taking a session in a primary school and the next you could be providing support for a 1st XV coach!
