About the role:
We are excited to offer an opportunity for a Game Activator - Coach Development to join our team in Invercargill.
In this role, you will be instrumental in developing, managing, and delivering coach education and development programs for all amateur rugby coaches in Southland. Your efforts will enhance the capabilities of our volunteer coaches through mandated NZR safety and coach education courses, ensuring positive and development-focused experiences.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead coach education and development programs at all amateur levels in Southland and lead delivery of NZR Coach Education Programs, such as Rugby Smart and Small Black Courses.
Deliver support to junior clubs/schools in Southland through coaching, education, advice, guidance, planning, and process support. Record relevant data for future program development.
Complete coach-related reports required by NZR, including Tackle and Scrum clinics.
Stay up to date with improved initiatives and new game laws through attending workshops/courses organised by NZR and other relevant organisations.
Assist alongside the organisations game activators in coordinating various tournaments and competitions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in speaking to and leading groups of people in either a public speaking or work group situation.
Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload independently.
Strong demonstrated commitment to rugby and the rugby community.
Team Player.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and travel when required.
