The Dunedin Wildlife Hospital, operated by the Wildlife Hospital Trust, is dedicated to the treatment and rehabilitation of New Zealand's native wildlife.
Our Hospital works closely with the Department of Conservation, mana whenua, community conservation groups, and the wider public to protect our vulnerable species. We are a registered charity located on the Otago Polytechnic campus and we are looking for a part-time fundraiser with a passion for animals.
As a Fundraising Coordinator , you will play a vital role in securing essential funding for the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital. Working closely with the Trust Manager and the Board of Trustees, your efforts will ensure we can continue our mission to protect New Zealand's wildlife.
You'll be responsible for driving key fundraising initiatives, managing donor relationships, and enhancing corporate sponsorships. This role is ideal for an experienced fundraiser with a passion for conservation.
Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement innovative fundraising strategies, focusing on annual giving, major gifts, bequests, and other avenues.
Donor Management: Cultivate relationships with existing and prospective donors, ensuring consistent and personalised communication.
Sponsorship Development: Manage and grow corporate partnerships and sponsorship portfolios, fulfilling obligations and commitments to corporate sponsors.
Administration & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all fundraising activities and donor communications. Prepare monthly reports for the Board of Trustees on fundraising progress.
What We're Looking For:
4+ years of experience in fundraising and donor relations, with demonstrated success in achieving targets.
Strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape in New Zealand.
Excellent communication, relationship management, and project management skills.
Passion for wildlife conservation and a shared vision of the Dunedin Wildlife Hospital.
Proficiency with donor management software.
