Job Description Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity We currently have an opportunity for a Functional Analyst join the Technical Analyst Services Practice, supporting the University's extensive portfolio of platforms, systems and services. The Functional Analyst role is a varied role combining requirements analysis, process improvement, technical problem-solving, knowledge management, and curiosity. Some activities you'll be engaged in here will be: Providing 3rd level technical support and enhancement for a series of customer-facing, high-impact technologies Analysing incoming enhancement requests to understand their technical and business components Collaborating with cross-functional team on the "how" of some of those enhancements Discussing, prototyping, testing and deploying new system features, changes or fixes Crafting and maintaining multi-audience knowledge content Engaging with business stakeholders of varying backgrounds, levels of technical knowledge, and awareness of Agile methodologies Participating in team planning activities to prioritise features, fixes and fun Engaging in learning activities to upskill in the various technologies and best practices we engage with here at UoA For more detailed information, please refer to the  Position Description . Please note this is a fulltime 37.5 hours/ week, permanent position, with a salary range of $90,000 - $100,000 per annum depending on skills and experience. He korero mou | About you To be successful in this role you'll need to be curious, collaborative, and interested in the 'why' of our systems. You're experienced in some kind of technical support, process improvement, or technology-oriented role. While this isn't a BA role, as there's more support, systems config understanding and hands on work required, if you've had experience in similar spaces before this will be of benefit. You'll enjoy solving technology problems, identifying process improvements, enhancing technology experiences and analysing requirements. Important Skills | Nga Pukenga Motuhake You will have: Excellent written and verbal communication skills Systems configuration skills or technical support experience Process improvement or analysis skills An interest in, or knowledge of, data and/or system flows Experience with: Crafting and maintaining user documentation Triaging and troubleshooting system or process issues Supporting and/or or configuring systems of high user impact Toolset and process analysis and configuration Managing work via a ticket and request management system (e.g. Remedy or ServiceNow) Experience working in a tertiary environment is of benefit, though not essential. Mo to matou ropu | About the team Product Engineering is made up of five technical Practices, each led by a Practice Manager. The PM is responsible for the wellbeing, growth and productivity of each person in their Practice. We also ensure our Practices are skilled for and aligned to best-practice approaches to delivering on each of our customer portfolio roadmaps – helping build or support the standards, tools, and patterns our teams use. Practice members work in cross-functional Agile delivery teams with Product Owners, across a number of business portfolios. In this role, you'll be working with other Analysts in your delivery team, but not necessarily the whole FA Practice in your day-to-day business – though there's plenty of opportunity to jump in on Practice initiatives too. We value flexibility and the team work on-site together occasionally; this location is designed for activity-based and collaborative working.
