ILT operates 23 businesses across Invercargill and employs around 650 staff having a rich heritage of investing in leading edge hospitality facilities and funding significant community projects through its distribution of profits to over 400 community organisation each year.The Ascot Park Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Invercargill in beautiful park-like surroundings. A stand out venue in the region for business, conference and leisure guests. The hotel offers excellent conference facilities, catering for anything from 8 to 600 people. We pride ourselves on the scale and flexibility of our venue and our eight dedicated conference rooms can host any occasion, whether it's a simple meeting, wedding or large conference. With 116 accommodation rooms and our other in house facilities such as spa, sauna, heated indoor swimming pool and Fitness Centre the Ascot Park Hotel ticks all the boxes.This standout venue in the South is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our productive conference and events department. Reporting to the Functions and Event Manager, this role is pivotal to the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of the functions department. You will be a key contact for our external customers and your input has a direct effect on the success of the many functions and events held at the Hotel. If you enjoy delivering exceptional guest experience on whatever the event may be, we would love to hear from you. This is a permanent part-time role with the general hours being Monday to Friday 09:00 - 15:00; a degree of flexibility would be required depending on business demands. The ILT offers great staff benefits and this is a great opportunity to be part of a successful operation.Applicants will demonstrate the following attributes:Significant experience within the hospitality, conference and events sector is preferred.The ability to deal with a range of people and have an understanding of how to achieve exceptional customer service.A knowledge of running large conferencing and events would be beneficial.Excellent communicator in both verbal and written correspondence.Ability to work in a busy team environment.In conjunction with the Functions Manager promoting profitable functions and conferences at Ascot Park Hotel.Assist in the planning, preparation and client communication to ensure the smooth running of functions, conferences and events within Ascot Park Hotel and on occasion in the community.To assist the Functions Manager in performing a sales and marketing role within the department establishing relationships with key business and corporate clients and build customer loyalty through recognition of regular guests.Ensuring that interaction with function clients creates a positive professional image which reflects the highest standards and the positioning of the Ascot Park Hotel within the ILT organisation.Skills Required:Excellent customer service both external and internal.Excellent phone manner and selling skills.Strong attention to detail.Knowledge of designing ads would be an advantage.If you are looking for a challenging role that offers the opportunity to be part of a professional team, please apply today. #J-18808-Ljbffr
