We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Fuels Operations Manager to join the business and lead our busy Fuelling Team.
The postholder will manage the airport fuel farm installation(s) and fuelling service to the airport's customers in accordance with all CAA, JIG, HMRC, legal and fuel provider's requirements. Applicants must have experience within an Operational fuelling environment.
Key responsibilities:
To manage the provision of fuelling services to customers including receipt and delivery of fuel and in-to-plane duties in accordance with all applicable regulations and in a timely manner often at short notice.
To control all budgets within the department, especially in relation to overtime, communications, uniform, fuel, vehicle maintenance and equipment hire.
To manage staff compliance with all departmental procedures and safety management system protocols.
To manage the production and maintenance of up to date risk assessments and written procedures, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
Be responsible for shift planning and rosters including additional refuelling cover as and when required during the busy periods, including sickness and holiday cover and to allocate tasks accordingly.
To effectively manage, deliver and maintain training and training records to a compliant standard, ensuring that CAA, legal and airline/operator requirements are met and that the quality of training delivered is continuously improved.
To take the lead role in the development and provision of an airport standard for airport fuel operational training.
To manage and be responsible for the quality of fuel passing through the department in accordance with EASA Implementing Regulations, JIG, HMRC, CAP 748 and to standards required by the fuel providers and customers.
To manage the inspection and maintenance, including records of all vehicles and equipment for serviceability and compliance, including reported deficiencies.
Ensuring unserviceable equipment is not used and managing relationships with the Motor Transport department/other approved professionals as required.
To advise on and check reports and paperwork produced by the Aircraft Refuelling Supervisors for submission to MORC.
To manage the procurement of specialist assets in relation to the fuelling operation.
To manage the effective purchase and delivery of red/white diesel (in addition to JET A1 and AVGAS 100LL) and to monitor and report to the accounts department for invoice and stock control.

Person Specification:
Qualifications:
Current HGV class 1
Aircraft refuelling competence as demonstrated by training records (to an equivalent standard to JIG 1/2)
Training received in aviation fuel management
Desirable:
IOSH qualified
Knowledge:
Sound knowledge of aviation health and safety and security reporting obligations
How to apply, and deliver compliance to all financial and regulatory standards
Understanding of the environmental issues involved in fuelling activities
Experience:
Minimum 5 years management of fuel farm including in-to-plane fuelling using a variety of on-board aircraft switches
Recent (within last 3 months) airport driving experience to include runway crossings, CP and apron driving
Managing customer relationships
Experience of monthly MORC returns
Experience in managing vehicle/equipment maintenance
Fuelling operations trainer experience
Desirable:
Fire marshal/security experience
Skills and Aptitudes:
Ability to write clear English and accurately interpret numerical data
Strong collaborative team leadership skills
Ability to manage day to day and longer-term problems and provide workable solutions
Good operational IT skills - including MS Office/Office 365
Skills in fuelling IT systems
Ability to manage and plan the daily schedule
Ability to interpret and advise on fuel regulations
Circumstances:
Able to obtain airside security clearance for work inside the CP unescorted
Able to attend meetings/conferences/training out of normal office hours and off-site
