Front Of House & Barista

Details of the offer

Hamilton Airport is the gateway to the Mighty Waikato and beyond. We have scheduled airline services to five national destinations, and our wider airport precinct includes a developing commercial and industrial park (Titanium Park) and Airport Hotel. The café is open to serve passengers travelling on all departing flights, during the day for visitors to the airport and to our tenant businesses. We are the only café and retail outlet in the airport terminal, so in addition to selling everything you'd find at a normal licensed café, we also sell a range of books, magazines, snacks, drinks, gifts and travel accessories. About the role We are seeking someone who will prosper in a friendly, busy team environment. Being at the heart of a busy airport, we aren't your average café... you will get to be part of an organisation and airport that is really taking off!!! The position hours can be flexible for the right candidate, and there may be opportunities to work additional hours to cover for other staff on leave. Given that we are open for all scheduled airline flights, our operating hours are not your normal opening hours: we usually open at 5.00 am and close around 8.00 pm, with morning or afternoon shifts. We are open 7 days a week including public holidays. These hours may vary seasonally and according to flight schedules set by airlines. The ability to work early mornings and/or into the evenings, weekends and public holidays is essential. However, we do always aim to give everyone at least one weekend day off. The role will include all tasks typical of a café and retail environment, including customer service, front-of-house duties, stocking, visual display set-up, stocktaking, ordering, and daily opening and/or closing. Skills and experience Ideally, you are a customer service champion with an eye for detail, be confident, friendly, and enjoy working with people. You will show initiative and take pride in your personal presentation. Having a current Duty Managers certificate, and previous barista training will be advantageous but not required. You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand and have your own transport. Benefits and perks Mileage allowance for every shift worked. Access to discounts at the Cafe. Access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Great wellbeing initiatives, including a wellbeing allowance. …and most importantly, you get to be a part of our awesome team at Hamilton Airport who genuinely cares about every member of our organisation! Sound like a great fit? We'd love to hear from you! Please supply a current CV and cover letter - we look forward to meeting you. #J-18808-Ljbffr
