Join our thriving team at hgl as a Freight / Customs Broker. In this full-time position based in Patumahoe, Auckland, you will play a key role in our Import/Export and Customs operations, ensuring seamless logistics solutions for our diverse client base.
What you'll be doing
Handling all aspects of freight forwarding and customs brokerage, including customs clearance, documentation, and regulatory compliance
Providing expert guidance to clients on import/export procedures and requirements
Negotiating rates with carriers and service providers to optimise logistics costs
Tracking and tracing shipments, addressing any issues or delays
Maintaining detailed records and preparing comprehensive reports
Collaborating cross-functionally to streamline operations and enhance customer service
What we're looking for
Proven experience as a Freight Forwarder or Customs Broker, preferably in the Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics industry
Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import/export processes, and documentation requirements
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with clients, carriers, and authorities
Proficient in using logistics management software and data analysis tools
Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work well under pressure
Must have a NZ customs pin for brokerage
