About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our construction team, specializing in concrete construction, restoration, and steel fixing.
The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping and constructing formwork for concrete structures, fixing steel reinforcements, and performing various concrete repairs using diUerent products and techniques, ensuring quality and precision in every project.
Hourly rate is between $30-$32 per hour, and you will be guaranteed a minimum of 30 hours per week normally worked between Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm and Saturdays between 7am and 1pm.
The candidate must have 3 years of proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter, specifically in concrete construction, restoration, and steel fixing.
Key Responsibilities: ? Construct, assemble, and dismantle formwork for concrete foundations, walls, columns, beams, and slabs.
? Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications to determine formwork and steel fixing requirements.
? Measure, cut, and assemble timber or metal formwork components accurately.
? Position and secure steel or wooden formwork for concrete pours.
? Fix steel reinforcements (rebar) according to specifications, ensuring correct placement and secure fastening.
? Perform concrete construction and restoration work, including using various concrete repair products and techniques.
? Collaborate closely with other trades and workers to ensure smooth concrete pouring and finishing.
? Monitor and maintain the safety of the worksite, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
? Inspect formwork, steel reinforcement, and completed concrete repairs to ensure they meet quality standards before and after concrete pours.
? Utilize hand and power tools safely and eUectively for formwork construction, steel fixing, and concrete repairs.
What do we need from you to be successful for this role?
? 3 years proven experience as a Formwork Carpenter, specifically in concrete construction, restoration, and steel fixing.
? Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
? The ability and confidence to work unsupervised.
? Strong understanding of concrete construction techniques, formwork systems, steel reinforcement, and materials.
? Experience working with various concrete repair products and techniques.
? Familiarity with safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
? Physical stamina and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
? Attention to detail and a dedication to quality workmanship.
? Experience working with formwork systems such as Peri, Doka, or similar.
? Knowledge of concrete finishing techniques is an advantage.
