Whanau Mercy Ministries Trust, a charitable trust within the Catholic Church in Aotearoa New Zealand, is seeking a Formation & Development Lead. This pivotal role involves developing and implementing formation, governance, and leadership development strategies across our ministries, including education, health, and community services.
The ministries (or works) of WMM are:
Education - St Mary's College Auckland; Carmel College Auckland; St Mary's College Wellington and St Catherine's College Wellington working together under Whanau Mercy Education Limited; Villa Maria Christchurch; and Te Ngakau Kotahi Ltd (the Mercy Collective common property maintenance/development pool for the 5 Mercy Colleges)
Health - Mercy Hospital Dunedin; and Te Korowai Atawhai Mercy Hospice Auckland
Community Development - Te Waipuna Puawai – Auckland; Mercy Villas – Upper Hutt, and Coolock Cottages - Dunedin
Key Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of formation and development strategies for the groupCollaborate with ministry leaders to identify and address formation and development needsDeliver cross-ministry programmes for governance, leadership, and mission developmentFoster strong relationships within the organisation and with external networksSkills & Qualifications: Commitment to Catholic values and practicesKnowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga MaoriRelevant qualification in theology or a related fieldMinimum 5 years' experience in leadership or governanceStrong communication, organisational, and relationship-building skillsWMM recognises that applicants may not be able to demonstrate all the skills, knowledge, and experience in all items listed in the position description.
