Starting Rate: $28-30 per hour (Depending on experience) Job Benefits: Accommodation, End of season bonuses Description Job Summary We are looking for highly capable forklift operators for our cherry packhouse facility. Your job will be to unload and load trucks, move packaging, cherry bins, and pallets of cherries around our cherry packhouse facilities. You will be operating a forklift with the utmost care to ensure safety and efficiency. You will be based either in the packaging area keeping the operation supplied with the required packaging types, and assisting with brand changeover, or you'll be based in the receiving and infeed area, receiving bins of cherries into the coolstore, and moving them to the infeed when it's their time to be packed. At times you may need to manually load or move items when a forklift is not appropriate. At Pure Pac harvest is a team effort; if something needs doing, we all band together to get it done. Responsibilities Unload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stack them to assigned places. Locate and move stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Use touchscreen RF scanner to record stock movements. Move stock in and out of the coolstores. Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. Transport raw materials to production workstations. Inspect machinery to determine the need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance. Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs. Comply with company policies and legal guidelines. Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities. Preferred: 2-3 years experience working in a warehouse environment. Experience using scanners for stock control or similar. Able to work in a team environment.
