Description Manage a portfolio of forests on Pamu farms.
Responsible for maintaining 5,300ha of existing forests from both a technical and commercial aspect.
Influence the afforestation process with an emphasis on alternative tree species.
Work on existing farm forests to improve the crop and mitigate environmental impacts.
This role requires regular travel across the central North Island, including Taupo, Rotorua, and the King Country. Your days will be varied, spending 3-4 days a week in the forest managing crews and navigating the terrain, while the other 1-2 days will be spent in the office planning, preparing budgets, and attending meetings.
The expected appointing range for this role is $80,000 to $125,000, depending on skills and experience.
About You You must have:
A proven record for successfully delivering forestry work programmes.
Sound knowledge of relevant legal and policy frameworks.
A relevant tertiary qualification.
Strong relationship management skills.
Proven planning, influencing, and facilitation skills.
A commitment to promoting health and safety standards and practices.
