The Role We have a permanent full-time opportunity for a motivated senior academic with expertise in Food Science, to make significant impact and develop their career in teaching, research and service. To complement our existing research group, we are particularly interested in applicants with research expertise in Food Science who also have the ability to teach across our Food Chemistry and Food Technology courses .
You will be expected to publish actively in your specialised field/s and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research. We offer an excellent research environment with contestable research funds. It is expected that the successful candidate will seek and attract external research funding, as well as contribute to School/Faculty activities.
You will have an open, engaging and collaborative attitude that is flexible to changing requirements. You will enhance the positive energy and collegiality within the School, must embrace and value diversity and enjoy working inclusively with students and colleagues.

Key Selection Criteria Qualification: A PhD in Food Science or a related field.
Teaching and Learning: Significant undergraduate and postgraduate lecturing experience in Food Science and Food Technology.
Research and Scholarship: Significant experience leading and driving research initiatives in Food Science, with a strong track record of publishing in respected journals.
Citizenship and Service: A proven record of academic leadership and service.
Further Information Start Date: Late-2024/Early-2025 (to be agreed with the successful candidate).
Term: The successful candidate will secure a permanent, full-time academic appointment.
Salary ranges: Senior Lecturer - NZD $109,051 to $142,591; Associate Professor - NZD $148,548 - $171,983; Professor - NZD $156,354 - $201,425.
