The Whakapapa whanau are an ambitious and passionate team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. As our Food & Beverage Business Manager, you'll oversee the operations of our bustling cafes, ensuring they deliver unforgettable experiences to our guests. On a busy day in the middle of the ski season there would not be many operations with the size and scope of Whakapapa in New Zealand. Key responsibilities include: Drive revenue and growth: Identify new opportunities to expand our food and beverage offerings and maximise profitability. Lead a talented team: Inspire and develop your team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of quality. Manage operations: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations, from procurement to inventory management and staff scheduling. Foster a service-focused culture: Create a positive and welcoming environment for both guests and staff. Our ideal applicant must have: Proven experience: Managing multiple sites with the proven ability to proactively manage logistical challenges and fluctuating guest numbers. Proven leadership: Demonstrated experience managing a successful food and beverage business in a high-volume environment. Strong business acumen: A solid understanding and proven experience of financial management, budgeting, and revenue generation. Exceptional customer service: A passion for providing outstanding experiences to our guests. Effective communication: The ability to build strong relationships and inspire your team. Adaptability: The flexibility to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
