Job Responsibilities: Lead all UAS flight testing, flight trials and customer demonstrations in New Zealand, and abroad where applicable.
Pilot a range of various UAS; helicopter, multicopter and fixed-wing.
Maintain up to date Operating Manual and associated documents with the CAA.
Oversee all aspects of daily flight operations, including pre-flight inspections, mission execution, and reporting.
Analyze flight data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and safety.
Maintain a robust flight log system and ensure all operations are meticulously documented.
Collaborate with the design engineering team to assist with feedback from UAS flight testing and operations.
Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and tailor drone solutions for success.
Stay updated on the latest UAS regulations and technological advancements.
Qualifications & Skills: Minimum 5 years of experience in UAS operations as operator and/or external pilot.
Valid New Zealand CAA Remote Pilot Licence and/or Helicopter PPL/CPL (Desired).
Experience in operations management and/or project management.
Deep understanding of UAS technology, flight dynamics, and safety protocols.
Proficiency in UAS flight planning.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyse flight data and identify areas for improvement.
Experience with document management systems and meticulous record keeping.
Strong communication skills for collaborating with clients and understanding their needs.
