We have strong partnerships with other shipping lines, moving cargo across 25 customer destinations in 16 countries.Job DescriptionWe're on the hunt for a dynamic and results-driven Fleet Manager to spearhead the NPDL Group Fleet strategy. In this pivotal role, you'll take charge of the fleet budget, leading the way in creating cost transparency while driving down lease and maintenance expenses. You'll champion group-wide initiatives that align with our business objectives and develop innovative EMR processes to elevate the visibility and understanding of our fleet across the organization.What you will be doing:Fleet ManagementDevelop and execute the NPDL Group Fleet strategy including lease and buy options.Communicate and drive group fleet initiatives with relevant stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.Collaborate with the Equipment team to optimize off-hire caps monthly.Contribute to the creation of the annual budget and manage assigned budget, ensuring early intervention for cost overruns and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Manage processing and system for all EMR transactions, ensuring data integrity.Lead cost reduction efforts to decrease average lease and repair costs per container.Create and execute NPDL group-wide EMR processes, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives.Liaise with leasing companies in relation to warranty service of leased containers.Audit vendor performance including structural and machinery repairs.Lead SCHS and MRS initiatives. Represent NPDL with key biosecurity stakeholders.Manage container sales for NPDL.Health & SafetyComply with all HSE legislation, regulation, code of practice, safe operating procedure, and best practices relevant to your responsibility.Understand and positively reinforce all company Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures, and standards.Participate in all HSE training as directed.QualificationsHere's what you'll bring to the table:10+ Years of Industry Expertise: With a solid decade of experience in shipping and container depots.Integrity & Work Ethics: You uphold the highest standards, ensuring robust controls and ethical practices.Strategic Fleet Leadership: Proven ability to craft and execute innovative container fleet strategies.Results-Driven: Thriving under pressure, you tackle challenges head-on.Project Management Pro: A track record of leading successful projects.Tech-Savvy: Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland, requiring quarterly travel to the Pacific islands such as Fiji, Samoa, Tonga as well as depots around New Zealand.
