Formed in 2020, Neptune Pacific Line acquired Pacific Direct Line, bringing together two of the South Pacific's top shipping and logistics companies to support the full supply chain of our customers in the region. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in the USA (including Fiji Water).NPDL operates 9 containerships, moving +240k TEU between AU, NZ and the Pacific Islands, as well as the USA. We have strong partnerships with other shipping lines, moving cargo across 25 customer destinations in 16 countries.Job DescriptionWe're on the hunt for a dynamic and results-driven Fleet Manager to spearhead the NPDL Group Fleet strategy. In this pivotal role, you'll take charge of the fleet budget, leading the way in creating cost transparency while driving down lease and maintenance expenses. You'll champion group-wide initiatives that align with our business objectives and develop innovative EMR processes to elevate the visibility and understanding of our fleet across the organization. Your leadership will be key in executing critical projects that support the continuous improvement and evolution of NPDL's fleet operations as well as working with the NPDL claims department to identify opportunities to reduce exposure.What you will be doing:Fleet ManagementDevelop and execute the NPDL Group Fleet strategy including lease and buy options.Communicate and drive group fleet initiatives with relevant stakeholders to deliver on business objectives.Collaborate with the Equipment team to optimize off-hire caps monthly. Understand fleet requirements and steering plans and make formal recommendations for change where alternative or more effective options are identified.Contribute to the creation of the annual budget and manage assigned budget. Ensure early intervention for cost overruns and identify cost-saving opportunities. Maintain key figures associated assigned budget.Develop and drive NPDL Container criteria.Manage processing and system for all EMR transactions, ensuring data integrity.Lead cost reduction efforts to decrease average lease and repair costs per container.Create and execute NPDL group-wide EMR processes, focusing on continuous improvement initiatives.Liaise with leasing companies in relation to warranty service of leased containers and specifically reefers ensuring the best financial outcomes for NPDL group.Contribute to operational outcomes through ensuring clear KPI's are developed for container repair vendors including container turn time, quality of repair and cost at container depots.Understand customer quality requirements to ensure appropriate fleet composition. Work proactively with Fiji Water to understand and supply NPDL and one-way containers to the agreed standard.Identify and drive fleet reduction in line with group strategy.Oversee lease contracts, sourcing options for new leases, and managing renewal process.Develop comprehensive business cases to support business change initiatives.Manage container turn time, repair quality, and costs at depots.Responsible for ensuring that in-service and offhire repair activities in depots are compliant, align with contractual obligations, and are in line with NPDL group standards to support wider strategies.Audit vendor performance including but not limited to structural and machinery repairs. Ensure regular pre and post repair audits are completed to measure survey accuracy and repair quality and compliance.Lead SCHS and MRS initiatives. Represent NPDL with key biosecurity stakeholders.Manage reefer spare parts and process across NPDL and partner vessels.Develop and lead cost recovery initiatives including but not limited to 3rd party claims and damage ensuring documentation is sufficient to substantiate.Review all new incidents relating to container damage to determine appropriate response. Actively participate in claims management in to ensure best outcome for NPDL group.Produce regular performance and management reports and distribute to key stakeholders as directed.Undertake projects relating to the progression, cost reduction or optimization of NPDL's container fleet.Provide or lead outsourcing of technical advice on NPDL's fleet.Manage container sales for NPDL.Health & SafetyComply with all HSE legislation, regulation, code of practice, safe operating procedure, and best practices relevant to your responsibility.Understand and positively reinforce all company Health, Safety and Environment policies, procedures, and standards.Understand the role and its safety elements.
