About the role As a Fixed Term Contract Accountant at Pacificomm, you will play a vital role in supporting the companies finance team and wider business with the accurate and timely completion of accounting tasks.
What you'll be doing Financial and Management Reporting Maintain general ledger reconciliations, journals, and accruals.Accurate & Timely completion of Balance Sheet Reconciliations for the group.Finance function backup and processing as required.Manage the accounting and reconciliations of all Rebate balance sheet accountsAssist in annual Audit and account preparation.Assist in any ad hoc Management Reporting to the group.Daily Bank Reconciliations.Assist with the preparation of monthly journals to the general ledger.Ensure month end close processes are completed according to reporting deadlines, and all reconciling items are properly documented.Provide ad hoc support to the Finance Manager and CFO to ensure the Group companies meet reporting requirements and deadlines.Ensuring the accurate coding of transactions.Management of the fixed asset registers.External Compliance and Reporting Assist in preparation of monthly GST, BAS, PAYE, FBT, other taxation and regulatory returns.Completion of Statistics NZ surveys.Effectively manage confidential information.General Good working knowledge of the Financial ERP system (Pronto, Xero).Proactively interact with non-Finance employees to build internal customer relationships and wider business knowledge.Seek out automation and process improvement opportunities through a consultative approach with the Finance team and undertake actions to make these realities.Support the business with additional duties as necessary.What we're looking for 1-3 years' experience in a similar contract accounting role, preferably within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentProficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, with strong Excel skillsExperience with Xero and Pronto preferredExcellent attention to detail and analytical abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamCommitment to continuous improvement and a desire to learn and growWhat we offer At Pacificomm, we are committed to providing our employees with a supportive and rewarding work environment.
