We are looking for experienced Fitters / Welders to join the McConnell Dowell family to work within our Mechanical Division team in Auckland. About the role Working with our experienced team of Fabricators / Welders with a reputation for performance excellence in industrial fabrication and maintenance you will : Perform fitting, welding and other fabrication duties as directed. Plant maintenance, including tunnel machine equipment. Adherence to our HSEQ standards and ensuring the safety and care of work conditions are maintained. Maintain and check all mechanical gear on site at the start of each shift; Ensure critical items of plant and equipment are 100% available when required; Fabrication and Fitting to drawings and client's specifications Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the welding equipment on site; Ensure that welding activities are performed to a high standard. Accurate recording of hours worked on timesheets for payroll and invoicing What you'll need Trades qualification relevant to fabrication and welding and plant and equipment maintenance e.g. National Certification in Engineering Level 4 3 to 5 years' experience relevant to the designated project and having previously held a Mechanical Fitter / Welder position ASME IX and ISO9606 Welding qualifications are preferred (minimum of 5 years' experience) Sound working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementing of same Motivated to meet targets and schedules Strong and clear verbal English communication skills Location of work : Auckland About Us McConnell Dowell Creative Construction Our purpose is Providing a Better Life.
