Fitter/Welder Fabricator

Winton Engineering Ltd designs and manufactures a wide range of farm equipment, undertakes general repair and contract maintenance, and specializes in building dairy wintering sheds via its sister company Advanced Dairy Barns Ltd.
We are based in Central Southland, 30km north of Invercargill. In our well-equipped workshop, we operate within a supportive team environment, providing quality products and services to clients on time and within budget.
Due to an increase in workload within the region, we are currently seeking to fill a Fitter/Welder Fabricator position. Ideally, we would prefer someone who has had trade experience for 2 or more years and can hit the ground running. No two days are the same here at Winton Engineering; therefore, multitasking is key to ensuring the smooth running of the workshop.
These skills include but are not limited to:

Welding MIG and Stick, Steel and Stainless Steel.
Trade experience.
Understanding and application of safe work practices.
Usage of handheld portable power tools and equipment.
Ability to understand and interpret plans/drawings.
An eye for detail.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently.

The successful applicant will also possess:

Excellent record keeping and time management.
Must be punctual, presentable, and reliable.
Team player.
Strong communication skills.
Full driver's license.
Forklift license (this is an advantage but not essential).
