About the Role | Mo te tunga We are seeking an experienced Fitter Turner/Machinist to join our team. Reporting to one of our workshop Production Leaders, the purpose of this role is to help deliver quality products which are delivered within the specified timeframes and cost requirements, whilst ensuring that all customer expectations are met. Key responsibilities include: Operating general machining equipment such as milling machines, lathes, and radial drills. Set and operate machine tooling to cut and shape metal parts. Temper and harden metal parts, braze and weld joints and fractures. Reading and interpreting CAD drawings and specifications. Maintenance of plant and equipment. 15+ years' experience in a Fitter/Turner or Machinist role operating mills, radial drills, lathes. Using workshop machinery including break press, guillotine, plate and sectional rollers, and lifting equipment. Versatile with fabrication and welding skills, TIG & MIG. Understanding and conducting polishing procedures as required. Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. You will have strong communication skills, have a good understanding of safety requirements in a workshop environment, and you are eligible to live and work in New Zealand. A Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in fitter turning (Trade) with strands in Light Fabrication, Heavy Fabrication and Steel Construction, or proven experience within this trade. 3+ years' TIG and MIG welding experience, preferably in the dairy industry.
