Fitter Turner / Machinist

Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fitter Turner or Machinist to join our workshop team at our East Tamaki facility. The successful candidate will carry out jobbing work in our machine and/or fitting shop, working on bespoke components for both fixed and mobile plant from a range of industries including mining, quarries, steel making, hydraulics, and defence.

Key Responsibilities Stripping and assembling gearboxes, valves, roll assemblies, etc. Measure up parts and assess for repair. Machining various parts from components under repair. Working off drawings or instructions to a high accuracy. Work independently and also as part of a team. Qualifications and Experience Recognised trade qualification in Machining. Strong experience in manual machining, including lathes and milling. Experience using high accuracy measuring equipment (e.g. micrometers). Understanding of fits and tolerances. Proficiency in reading technical drawings and plans. A strong work ethic and commitment to safety protocols. We are a drug and alcohol-free workplace; pre-employment screening is required.
