Fitters, Turners & Machinists (Trades & Services)Full timeMy client is a well-established company that provides engineering services and solutions to a range of small and large businesses and enterprises throughout Southland and Otago. They are specialists in general, mechanical, structural and maintenance engineering, who have a reputation for reliability and delivery quality.With ongoing growth and plenty of exciting projects, they are now looking to add an experienced Fitter Turner to their team.About the role:To be highly competent in the use of general machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, shapers, broaching machines, drills, line borers, and overhead gantry cranes.Competent in the use of general workshop equipment, including MIG & stick welders, saws, brake press, guillotine, rolls, drills, grinders, and punch & shear machines.Ability to use general hand tools, drills, and disc grinders.To machine to 0.015mm tolerances regularly with good surface finishes.Complete fault finding and repairs and maintenance of equipment, plant, and machinery.Ability to read engineering drawings and have basic drawing skills.Work at heights and within confined spaces as required.Capable of welding carbon steels to an acceptable standard, e.g., welding a tooling jig.About you:You are a trade-qualified Fitter Turner with a strong technical background.Have several years' experience in the trade (minimum 6 years post apprenticeship).Self-motivated, punctual & well presented.Good English language skills & a good understanding of mathematics.Drug free, physically fit & in good health.Prepared to work overtime & be flexible in the hours of work.Have a NZ current driver's licence.Basic computer/internet skills are required.Benefits:A generous hourly wage is on offer, $38.00 - $45.00, based on your work experience and qualifications, along with penal rates.Branded company clothing, all PPE, and work boots provided.The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 7/7.30am to 4/4.30pm, 45 hours per week.To apply:Call Ned - Senior Technical Recruitment Specialist at Gunn Talent on (021) 064-3448 if you have any questions or apply now with your CV.Applicants for this position ideally will be living in New Zealand NOW; overseas applicants will be considered.
