We are actively seeking a skilled Fitter Turner/Fitter Welder to join Ashhurst Engineering and Construction. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the efficient operation of machinery and equipment.Key Responsibilities:Fitting & Turning: Perform precise fitting and turning tasks on various components, focusing on high-quality machining work related to hydro projects.Manufacturing & Assembly: Manufacture, fit, and assemble parts and components for a variety of machinery, ensuring precision and quality in every task.Maintenance & Repair: Maintain, modify, and repair all machinery according to manufacturers' specifications, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.Fitting & Fabrication: Fit, fabricate, weld, and assemble metal components and sub-assemblies, utilizing your technical expertise to deliver high-quality results.Shutdown Work: Participate in shutdown work, ensuring minimal downtime and effective project completion.Health & Safety Leadership: Demonstrate and promote a positive culture of health and safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.Supervision & Mentorship: Supervise and mentor a 2nd-year apprentice, providing guidance in fitting, turning, and welding techniques.Project Oversight: Oversee site work, ensuring machining, fitting, welding, fabrication, and assembly projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.Site Travel: Travel to various project sites as required within the Waikato/BOP region.Requirements:Experience within an engineering or manufacturing roleStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.Class 1 Full Driver's LicenseWorking at Heights and confined spaces certifications are advantageousKnowledge in hydro and geothermal is preferredMust be eligible to work in New ZealandProven experience as a Fitter/Welder with a strong skill set in both fitting and welding.Previous supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and mentor a small team.If this sounds like you, apply online now or give our team a call on 0800178233 - Rotorua.
