Napier City Council is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our Napier Aquatic Network team as a Fitness Team Member on a casual basis. As a Fitness Team Member, your responsibilities extend beyond personal training sessions. You'll also play a crucial role in conducting gym tours, consultations for potential new members, and assisting with front desk duties. To excel in this role, you must hold a minimum Level 4 personal training qualification, ensuring our commitment to delivering exceptional fitness experiences. Your duties will encompass: Providing fitness instruction and support across Napier Aquatic Network, spanning Small Group training (Bootcamp or similar), Group Fitness training, Gym Instruction, Personal Training, Aqua Fitness, and Programme Development. Offering information to the public to aid in their orientation to the complex, its facilities, and program details. Engaging in continuous personal development within health, sports, and recreation. Collaborating with Customer Engagement and Fitness colleagues to ensure a seamless customer experience, from enquiry to membership and beyond. Ensuring compliance with quality management, accreditation, and regulatory requirements for Fitness activities. Assisting in the coordination of programs and events, including the proper setup of equipment used for these activities. Ability to devise personalised programming and adhere to the Napier Aquatic Fitness Framework. The successful candidate will possess: A recognised tertiary qualification in sport/leisure/fitness (Level 4 or above). Availability during weekends, with occasional late nights. A valid driver's license. First Aid Certificate. Previous experience in the fitness/leisure/sports industry, including Aqua Fitness, Personal Training, and/or Group Fitness responsibilities. Demonstrated success in delivering and monitoring gym and fitness programs. Profound knowledge of fitness training, including testing, prescription, and monitoring. Proven ability to foster a positive, encouraging, and motivating gym and fitness environment for both customers and colleagues.
