Jackson County Fire District 3 is accepting applications for Entry-Level and Experienced Firefighter positions for the Spring 2025 Academy. This recruitment is a joint process with Fire District 5, providing candidates the opportunity to apply to one or both districts through a single online application.
Application Deadline: October 14, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. PST
Candidates must complete both the Fire District 3 application and the NTN FireTEAM exam, including the 2-part PSSA, to be considered for the position.
Position Overview:
Firefighters with Jackson County Fire District 3 respond to emergent and non-emergent calls, including fires, medical emergencies, rescues, and hazardous material incidents. Firefighters are integral to the district's mission to preserve quality of life and protect property through public education, prevention activities, and emergency response services.
Salary Information: Entry Level Firefighter: Starting at $6,123/month
Experienced Firefighter: $6,751 – $7,443/month (dependent on experience and certifications)
EMT Incentives:
3% for Advanced EMT (AEMT)
5% for EMT-I
11% for Paramedic
Education Incentives:
1% for an Associate's Degree
2% for a Bachelor's Degree

The Assessment Center and Physical Agility Test are scheduled for early November for those who meet the minimum requirements and achieve a score of 70% or higher on the written exam. Note that the CPAT will not be accepted as an alternative to the physical agility test.

Jackson County Fire District 3 serves approximately 54,000 residents across various communities, including White City, Central Point, Eagle Point, Sams Valley, Gold Hill, Agate Lake, and Dodge Bridge. The district operates eight fire stations, with four staffed 24/7 by career firefighters and four staffed by volunteers. Crews work on a 48/96 schedule, and the district is committed to fire suppression, pre-hospital emergency medical services, technical rescue operations, and hazardous material mitigation.
