Responsibilities:
Involved in diverse high-stakes scenarios such as fire suppression, advanced medical emergencies, water rescues, and rope rescue missions.
Face unique challenges that demand both technical skills and mental and physical toughness.

To apply, all candidates must complete the National Testing Network CPAT, Fire Team Testing, and the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and select Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District via NTN. Internal applicants with a current physical on file may bypass the NTN CPAT requirement.
Additionally, submit a completed department application and required certifications in person by October 3, 2024, at 4 p.m.
Required Qualifications (Pro Board, IFSAC, NFPA, or DPSST):

Starting Salary: $51,452.07 plus certification bonuses (if applicable)

Department Overview:The Nestucca Rural Fire Protection District is a cutting-edge emergency services provider known for its commitment to community safety and innovation. Our team includes a fire chief, deputy chief, two division chiefs, administrative staff, nine career firefighters, three resident firefighters, and 35 volunteers. We operate from six stations with a fleet of 24 emergency apparatus.
We respond to over 1,000 calls annually, including fire suppression, medical emergencies, water rescues, rope rescues, vehicle rescues, and drone operations. Our district spans over 350 square miles, encompassing a diverse landscape from coastal dunes to state forests, rivers, and bays.
Area Information:Located in South Tillamook County, our district is nestled between the Pacific Ocean and the Coastal Mountain Range. The region is home to state and federal forests, wetlands, and major transportation routes. With over 100 farms, a small airport, and a national wildlife refuge, the area offers an array of recreational activities such as fishing, hunting, kayaking, hiking, and ATV riding on the sand dunes.
