About the role | Ko te kaupapa We have a newly structured role for a qualified accountant who is an expert in providing accurate and timely financial reporting to the business, ensuring the finance, administration, and support team delivers the highest quality financial and corporate support services. The role will have you: Provide assistance and support to relevant divisions to build their understanding and confidence in financial information and underlying finance systems, processes, and procedures. Ensure the accuracy of the financial statements through robust review of cost variances and implementing systems/process improvement. Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations for all responsible accounts, clearly demonstrating any variance and an action plan to proactively manage. Support accounts receivables collections, and accounts payable processing expenses and supplier payments. Complete month end WIP reviews and processing and group journals including overhead allocation and inter branch journals, prepayments, and accruals. The ideal candidate is someone who can work in a dynamic environment, present recommendations, and drive change by developing and implementing processes and controls. The experience you'll need: Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience. Tertiary qualification in accounting, ideally CA qualified. CCO experience including government audit processes advantageous. Work with commercial contracts and standards including NZS3910 and NZS 3917 beneficial. Advanced Microsoft Excel ability. The skills you'll require: Ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. Competency in accounts payable/receivable, payroll, bank administration, etc. Commercial acumen, and high levels of financial analysis. Ability to assimilate high volumes of information across disciplines and teams, providing leadership, clarity, direction, and support as needed.
