Our team of finance professionals partner with the business to provide trusted insights and forward-looking analysis; accuracy; efficiency and control to frame and influence business decisions.Responsibilities:Involvement in the month-end close process.Preparing financial disclosure reports to Group Head Office, and replying to both internal and external auditor queries as required.Preparing Domestic Systemically Important Banks (DSIB)/Global Systemically Important Banks (GSIB) reports to Group Head Office, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Potential involvement with the preparation and delivery of ad hoc reporting to senior management and other departments.Extensive involvement with Head Office in the translation process for the semi-annual Disclosure Statements.Production of selected monthly balance sheet reconciliations.Ensuring the integrity of the key financial statements, including the performance of daily controls on Balance Sheets and Income statements, and timely investigation and resolution of any abnormal issues.Ensuring that accounting systems and associated processes are robust and comply with relevant accounting standards and principles.Involvement in establishing the correct accounting treatment for new products.Potential involvement in the preparation and review of indirect tax calculations and returns.Other ad-hoc responsibilities as required.Key requirements:Overall experience of at least 3+ years in financial/accounting roles in the financial services industry (preferably the banking sector) or equivalent experience in CA firms.Broad knowledge of NZ Accounting Standards.Ability to identify issues, track to resolution, and escalate when necessary.Ability to remain calm and perform competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.Strong Microsoft Excel skills, with experience in developing financial models. SaaS or SQL knowledge would be an advantage but not necessary.Experience in working within a multi-cultural team environment; Mandarin language skills (spoken and written) are required.Please apply online with a cover letter and CV.
