About the role New Zealand Blood Service is on an exciting journey to redefine how we do finance and positively impact performance and productivity to meet short and long-term organisational goals.
As a part of this change, we are creating new processes to bring best practice to life as well as implementing a partnering approach.
Due to an internal promotion, we are now looking for a Financial Accountant to contribute to this change, improving our processes and ways of working.
As a member of the Finance team, the successful person will take a collaborative approach with internal customers and ensure effective and timely provision of financial information.
Key responsibilities include: Provide effective, accurate, and timely financial results/reports for month, quarter, and year-end.Ensure that the accounts receivable and bank account management responsibilities are undertaken in an efficient manner.Management of the Fixed Assets register and CAPEX approval tracking.Participate in any projects assigned by the Financial Controller or the Senior Financial Accountant.Work collaboratively with the Senior Financial Accountant to ensure cross-position resilience is embedded.Provide an Audit and Compliance mindset to all activities that meet standards expected by external auditors.Ensure that optimal stakeholder satisfaction is being provided both internally and externally.Your profile CA/CPA qualified with 1-3 years post-qualified experience in a financial accounting focused role, highly developed analytical skills, and a high level of attention to detail.A positive 'can do' approach to tasks as well as the flexibility and adaptability in order to work under pressure and meet short and long-term deadlines.Experience in identifying opportunities for improvement and initiating process improvements.Strong interpersonal skills, approachable and motivated to work in a values-led environment.Experience communicating with colleagues at different levels and able to make finance concepts understandable.What we offer We offer a competitive salary and flexibility including WFH.
4 weeks and 2 days (4.4 weeks) annual leave per annum, moving to 5 weeks after 5 years' service.
Long service - 2 weeks leave after 10 years' service and a one week's leave following any subsequent period of 5 years' service.
