Financial AccountantLeading co-operative - over 80 retail stores nationwideEstablished national co-operative that's fast forwardHigh-performing, warm and inclusive teamMo te whai waahi | About the opportunityThis is a full time, permanent role, working 80 hours per fortnight at our Christchurch Support Office.Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate recording, reporting and analysis of financial transactions in compliance with NZ accounting standards. You will support the organisation by maintaining compliance with IRD requirements, preparing monthly & annual financial statements and contributing to financial planning, forecasting and decision-making. You will be applying best practice financial disciplines and contributing to the accurate and timely preparation of reports.You'll concentrate on:Maintaining strong working relationships across the business with senior finance and operational management.Collaborating with internal departments to provide financial advice and insights.Preparing FBT and GST returns, and reviewing information for the preparation of the income tax return.Managing and reconciling balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.Supporting timely and accurate month end reporting and completing monthly accruals.Supporting the preparation and monitoring of budgets & forecasts.Liaising with the IRD, auditors and other regulatory bodies as needed.Taking a key role in managing and understanding the project costs and reporting to key stakeholders.Identifying and implementing improvement in financial processes, reporting and systems.Farmlands is building a forward looking and agile business and your role will play a critical part in delivery of these goals.
