The SBL service is unrivalled, and the teams' longstanding relationships in the Japanese market in particular offer significant benefit to their customers' operations.The Credit Manager RoleThe Credit Manager role is a senior role, integral to the continued growth and success of SBL Ltd. With a clear strategic direction, including some exciting projects due to kick off in 2025, the SBL team are looking for someone who can operate with confidence at a senior level, and who is specifically seeking a new opportunity, perhaps outside the corporate world, to showcase their depth of knowledge and skills across credit/finance, business growth, relationship management and leadership.SBL Finance is a unique product that allows approved customers to fund a vehicle from point of purchase overseas to the time it is sold in New Zealand. Working with existing and new customers, the Credit Manager will be responsible for the provision, monitoring, and quality of flexible finance solutions that enable customers to maximise stock levels and expand their business opportunities, and encouraging continued growth for SBL through strong customer relationships.With additional responsibility for leading the administration team to streamline operations and improve efficiencies, this is a role perfectly suited for someone who is self-motivated, driven to succeed and able to see beyond the numbers to achieve results.Core Responsibilities include:Working with existing and prospective clients to understand their business and stock funding needs and offer solutions that support them to grow their business - taking genuine care of and interest in SBL client's needs is fundamental to your success in this role.Ensuring proactive, transparent communication throughout the SBL finance application and approval process.Working with the sales team to grow our customer base.Processing finance applications; assessing financial information and preparing credit proposals within business risk parameters for presentation to the credit committee.Leading the credit team to drive exceptional customer service and grow our internal capability while maintaining our positive and productive culture.Coaching and developing team members to achieve their personal and professional goals.Implementing systems and processes to maximise efficiency and manage risks associated with the SBL ledger/book.What we're looking for:This role is perfectly suited to someone with at least 10 years' experience in a similar role, or relevant experience in the financial services sector, who can demonstrate strong credit knowledge and proven commercial acumen. With high EQ, you will be able to read the room, create strong connections with SBL's clients and become a trusted leader within the business. You will be forward-thinking, and have a desire to be part of a team committed to executing on their strategic pathway. Knowledge of importing and an appreciation of currency/market fluctuations is preferred.Our ideal candidate will also be:Intuitive, proactive and have the ability to think outside the box to secure unique opportunities for our customers.Results driven, with a high level of integrity.Skilled in the interpretation and presentation of complex financial information.Trust us when we say this role is considered critical to the business, and it will be remunerated accordingly.
