Finance Director - Anz

Corpay is currently looking to hire an ANZ Finance Director within our Global Accounting & Finance division. This position falls under our International Fleet – Vehicle Payments line of business and can be based in either Auckland, NZ or Melbourne, AU. In this role, you will manage the full finance function across Australasia with a focus on transforming the function including the team, systems, processes and control environment. You will report directly to the IVP CFO and regularly collaborate with all areas of the business including commercial, product, and credit alongside the ANZ finance team.

Role Responsibilities
In addition to being part of the IVP Finance & Credit Leadership team, you will be an active and key member of the ANZ Leadership team. This will require you to provide support and recommendations to senior leadership regarding the position, performance, sustainability and management of the organization's financial resources. You'll be a strategic and commercial partner to the ANZ Managing Director, and lead a small, motivated finance team, overseeing day-to-day financial operations. Your role will also involve producing key financial documents such as P&L, balance sheets, and cashflow statements. In addition to these responsibilities, you will identify operational and process improvements across the client services function, manage cash flow to meet business requirements, and assist with budget preparation.
As an experienced people leader with proven relational and EQ skills, the ideal candidate for this role will be someone with significant relevant experience in similar sized organisations. Beyond this, you will ideally be able to:
Think and act strategically. Have the ability to anticipate future trends accurately, communicate and engage broadly with others, and able to motivate your team to champion the organisations vision, mission, values and Strategic Framework.
Proven ability to translate complex financial information in a simple form to people whose priority is less focused on financial outcomes.
Build and maintain a positive and inclusive performance culture that ensures continuous improvement across every aspect of the organisation but with a special focus on the finance function in order to deliver optimal results with your team.
Plan, prioritise, and organise work to achieve strategic and operational objectives for the organisation and the finance function.
Lead collaboratively, administer, and mitigate risks associated with the financial activities of the organisation to ensure the organisation has the financial capabilities to pursue and deliver its services, and enable the organisation to fulfil its vision, mission, and values.
Maintain strong, transparent relationships with and confidence of the ANZ Managing Director and other members of the leadership team.
Build strong relationships with external stakeholders including the auditors and banks.
Qualifications & Skills
We are seeking a strategic thinker and collaborative relationship builder who can use their business acumen to help influence business decisions. You will require a broad grounding in finance and accounting, complemented with advanced stakeholder management and business partnering skills to support business strategy development and execution. Proven management experience is essential, together with attention to detail and accuracy, great communication and relationship-building skills. We are looking for someone who will passionately lead and manage the finance team and develop improvements in client services and processes. It's important that you are hands-on, dynamic and willing to get to know the whole business.
To be considered for this role, you must also have the following skills and experience:
CA Qualification or equivalent
Strong knowledge of Excel
6 to 8 years of finance management experience, preferably in payments or financial services
Experience driving transformation in Finance (including automation and efficiencies) while maintaining a customer focus, and improvement in the control environment.
Experience in complex accounting environments.
Experience operating in an international matrix environment.
Experience working in a company with a high volume of transactions preferred.
