If yes, please apply as we have the following position available:ROLE: Financial ControllerWORKING HOURS: 40 hours per weekPURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:- To take full direction control and accountability of the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Budgeting, Financial Reporting, and Finance functions.- All staff and suppliers are paid correctly and on time and all related systems are operated effectively including recording and reporting. The internal controls for Payroll and Accounts Payable are operated as designed. All cut-off and deadlines are met.- The students and other debtors are invoiced accurately and on a timely basis, with the implementation of the internal control effectively.- All purchasing systems are operated as the delegated authorities and that suppliers are only paid after the correct quantity is authorized, received and correctly priced.- The General Ledger and subsidiary ledgers are regularly reconciled with timely and accurate reports provided to the Board and other stakeholders.- The budgets are prepared from guidelines and supervision from the Board and provided for approval.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Budget preparation including review and management reports against budget.- Payroll requirements including attendance on fortnightly pays and Inland Revenue Payday filing requirements.- Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable systems and data entry.- Maintaining all financial systems.- Monthly Management Reports for the Board as required.- All Inland Revenue compliance requirements including Income Tax, GST and FBT.- Prepare quarterly maximum liability calculation per NZQA Student Fee Protection Rule.- Attendance on preparation of financial system for submission for preparation of Annual Accounts.- Attendance at meetings as required.- To compile Annual Financial Statements for IPU from information and records IPU provides in accordance with the Compilation Engagement Standards issued by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.- From information and records provided by IPU, to prepare returns of income for IPU and to calculate taxation due or payable by reference to the returns.- To send reminder notices for tax payable, if required.- To check assessments when they are received from the Inland Revenue, if required.- All attendances and correspondences with Auditors, as required.Please forward a cover letter and your CV with the names and contact details of two referees to:Human ResourcesIPU New Zealand Tertiary InstitutePrivate Bag 11021Manawatu Mail CentrePalmerston North 4442New ZealandPhone: 06-354-0922Email: ****** Website: ipu.ac.nzThe institute reserves the right not to make an appointment or to appoint by invitation.IPU New Zealand is a member of the SOSHI Educational Group that provides education to more than 25,000 students at pre-school to tertiary levels worldwide.
