There is a strong focus on providing meaningful analysis and insight to the business, as well as process changes to ensure on-going data quality improvements.
As a unified team, the Finance team provide efficient, timely and high-quality accounting, financial and analytical services throughout the organisation.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate that they have the ability to manage the tasks, relationships and the employment context for this position; this includes:
Strong business partnering skills - including strong communication skills, and the ability to identify and implement business/system improvementsHaving excellent accounting and analytical skillsPossessing sound technical knowledge of financial management systems, including strong excel skillsThe ability to schedule and prioritise workExperience in leading and developing teamsDemonstrated experience at designing and/or contributing to strategic planning and deliveryAbility to manage projects as well as partnering with business managers to maintain accuracy in process and system requirementsExcellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage delivery of multiple and conflicting prioritiesUnderstands the importance of confidentiality, displaying discretion whenever necessary.Ara Institute of Canterbury is a vibrant and progressive tertiary institute providing world-class, tertiary-level education throughout the Canterbury and Waitaki region.
