Aerowork operates the largest fleet of Cresco aircraft in New Zealand and is engaged in the aerial application of fertilisers for hill country farming with airfield bases spread across New Zealand. Aerowork plays an important part in ensuring New Zealand farmers can produce food sustainably and this role is key in this through continuous development of service improvements.This position reports to the CEO and is a trusted advisor within the business, that will:Facilitate and support robust commercial decision-makingProvide strategic financial advice, analysis and leadership across AeroworkPrepare accurate and timely financial and management accounts and reportIt's an exciting time to be joining the team at Aerowork where you will have real impact on creating order and value from our data and create meaningful value for stakeholders.This is an opportunity to put your stamp on this role and become a member of a dynamic team.Key Responsibilities:Managing Aerowork's financial accounting and reporting functionsProviding real-time support and analysis including financial investment reviews that assists in decision making for the direction of the business.Work on business performance improvement projects and the delivery of strategic requirements for business sustainability and growth.Work closely with Ravensdown finance teams by creating an active partnership with them as well as with customers, operations and external stakeholders to understand the drivers of financial performance and identify opportunities to improve them.Act as the interface or "translator" between wider finance functions and the wider Aerowork team.Be a key player in the governance of Aerowork.About You:Ideally you would be an experienced business and financial expert with excellent leadership and influencing skills which will enable you to coach and guide our managers on financial issues. You will have the ability to communicate financial concepts in a clear and user-friendly manner. You will be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to be agile and flexible and respond quickly to changing environments.Ideal Skills & Experience:Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, business economics, commerce or related disciplineSolid experience within accounting or finance with specific experience in either leadership/management roles or directly consulting and advising them.Strong numeracy and analytical skills including the ability to interpret financial and non-financial data.It would be ideal but not essential to have knowledge of or experience in the aviation industry.Experience in management accounting & experience with ERP systems (JDE or RAMCO would be favourably looked upon)An in-depth knowledge of business planning, budgeting and budget review processes including performance analytics and reporting.Experience in financial modelling and post-investment review tools and methodologies.In return for your skills, we offer a very competitive package that includes an array of insurances, company phone, laptop, and company clothing allowance, plus excellent training opportunities in a supportive cooperative environment.We are ideally looking for someone to be based locally in Whanganui but are open to flexible working arrangements (e.g., working from home for a few days per week, if you are not based locally) for the right candidate.How to Apply:Click on the 'Apply' button to create a profile and submit your CV and cover letter.Ravensdown is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
