They have offices based in Blenheim and Lincoln (Christchurch).
About the role
Reporting to the Programme Manager, this newly created Finance role plays a key part in enabling the BRI team to effectively manage budgets and key financial processes by providing accurate, timely financial administration.
Key responsibilities include:
Managing and processing accounts payable and receivable,
Supporting the development of financial reports,
Organising financial records and supporting the audit process,
Assisting with project budgeting, metrics, operational performance dashboards, and periodic financial reporting on projects,
Managing the procurement, credit card, and expense processes,
Maintaining bank authorities and updates,
Ensuring all timesheets are completed and submitted.
This is a part-time office role (approximately 25 hours per week). There is flexibility around when these hours could be worked and the opportunity to work from home once relationships with the team have been formed. The ideal candidate
You will have at least three years' experience managing accounts within a small business, or you might have recently graduated with a Finance or Accounting degree with two years' experience. Critical is your in-depth understanding of accounting practices and best standards.
You will have an excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and Xero. Experience in a research-led environment would be useful.
This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, team environment as well as independently.
