One team that wants to innovate with a purpose.What your role and typical day might look likeThe purpose of this role is to support our Merkle Aotearoa and Finance team in the smooth running of our AP/AR function, such as supplier invoices for payment and assisting with cash receipts, and also supporting our month end closing activities. Additionally, it provides finance support to overall Dentsu business including blackline reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations and monthly reporting.This role requires a high level of stakeholder management, a sharp eye for detail, fluent written and spoken communication skills and the ability to navigate a complex business.Responsibilities could include:Accounts Payables: responsible for the accurate coding, posting, and timely payment of all invoices.Accounts Receivables: Responsible for timely and accurate billing, resolving billing inquiries, manage debtor collections and understand overall AR process.Providing support for month end activities, including journals, bank reconciliations, intercompany processes, reconciliation and reporting.Support Merkle business with Job management including timesheet follow up, reviewing job costs and understand WIP.Maintain the Merkle mailbox to manage finance and systems queries.Support wider finance team with Blackline reconciliations.Build and nurture positive working relationships with the team, including finance team, Dentsu and Merkle business stakeholders and key external stakeholders.Assist management accountants with ad-hoc requests such as external & internal audit and other group requests.Bring a focus of continuous improvement to deliver operating efficiencies, finance projects and transformation initiatives.A bit about you:Experience working in an accounting function, with around 2 years of experience in an AP/AR/Assistant Accountant role. Experience with month end reporting cycles will be beneficial too.Interested in pursuing or are a part qualified chartered accountant.Experience working in a complex, fast-paced environment; bonus points in a professional services, consulting or advertising agency environment.Highly organised, proactive and efficient, able to manage competing deadlines for multiple stakeholders.Process-driven with an appreciation for standard best practices, and able to identify opportunities for efficiencies and automation where possible.Analytical and detail-oriented.
