HALO Systems is seeking a Sparkie in the Lower Taranaki region to help install, commission, and maintain our remote monitoring and IoT solutions.
The role will take you across the Taranaki and beyond.
Join our people-first culture where we prioritize safety, professionalism, and having fun on the job!About the RoleAs an Electrician (Sparkie) at HALO Systems, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our innovative hardware is installed safely and efficiently in line with New Zealand's electrical codes and regulations.
You'll work in tandem with our engineering and operations teams to integrate, commission, and service HALO products—like sensor nodes, communication modules, and gateways—across various client sites around the North Island.Key ResponsibilitiesElectrical Installations- Install and test electrical wiring, equipment, and apparatus in line with EWRB requirements and the latest electrical codes of practice.- Wire and integrate HALO sensors, controllers, and other hardware, ensuring compliance with relevant NZ standards.System Commissioning & Maintenance- Commission newly installed systems to verify proper functionality, addressing any electrical or technical issues.- Perform regular maintenance checks to keep HALO solutions operating safely and efficiently.Troubleshooting & Repairs- Diagnose electrical and electronic faults, swiftly identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve more complex issues requiring advanced diagnostic techniques.Compliance & Safety- Uphold high standards of safety and professionalism, adhering to OSH regulations and best practices.- Conduct all work in accordance with EWRB licensing requirements and relevant NZ electrical codes.- Maintain accurate documentation of completed work for compliance and future reference.Customer Interaction- Communicate clearly with clients regarding work schedules, progress updates, and any remedial actions.- Provide basic training or guidance to site personnel on safe electrical practices as it pertains to HALO Systems' hardware.- Gather and relay customer feedback to support ongoing improvements in installation and service processes.Key CompetenciesElectrical Expertise: Fully conversant with NZ electrical regulations and capable of delivering work that meets or exceeds industry standards.Professionalism: Maintains a courteous, respectful demeanor with clients and colleagues, upholding HALO Systems' reputation.Attention to Detail: Conducts installations and inspections meticulously, ensuring no aspect is overlooked.Problem-Solving: Exhibits a methodical approach to diagnosing electrical and electronic issues, recommending feasible solutions.Adaptability: Thrives in a varied work environment, handling multiple jobs and occasionally shifting priorities.Team Collaboration: Works effectively across departments (engineering, operations) to meet customer needs and project goals.Qualifications and ExperienceNZ Registration: A current EWRB Electrical Practising License (Electrician or Electrical Service Technician).Experience: 2+ years of hands-on electrical installation, servicing, or maintenance experience.IoT/Technology Exposure: Familiarity with sensor-based systems, remote monitoring, or industrial automation is a plus.Licenses: Valid driver's license for travel to various customer sites.Health & Safety: Proven track record of adhering to OSH rules, safe work methods, and relevant safety guidelines.What We OfferPeople-First Culture: A supportive work environment prioritizing well-being, personal growth, and team spirit.Engaging Projects: Work with cutting-edge remote monitoring solutions, solving real-world problems across diverse industries.Professional Development: Access ongoing training and opportunities to enhance your electrical and technology skill sets.Fun & Community: Be part of a friendly, collaborative team that enjoys working together—and celebrating wins.Competitive Compensation: Receive a comprehensive package that recognizes your skills and contributions.Ready to Join Us?If you're a qualified Sparkie with a passion for technology, safety, and delivering top-notch service, we'd love to hear from you!How to ApplySubmit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant electrical experience to ****** Deadline: 20 January 2025Come be a part of HALO Systems in Lower Taranaki—where we combine technology, teamwork, and a commitment to safety for an innovative, rewarding career!
