Advertised on behalf of Te Hapu o Ngati Wheke. We are seeking a Field Team Lead to supervise our hard-working team of Field Officers!
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in advancing conservation efforts within our takiwa. Reporting directly to the Programme Manager, you will supervise and coordinate a team of skilled Field Officers to deliver on conservation projects.
Success in this role will require excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to safely and effectively lead a team that works primarily outdoors in rugged terrain.
This position offers a unique blend of leadership, collaboration, and hands-on involvement in conservation, making it ideal for someone passionate about preserving natural and cultural heritage, contributing to the sustainability of our takiwa, and spending their working day outside on our whenua. This position is based in Rapaki, and will require travel about the takiwa.
Our ideal candidate will have: Conservation experience, including an understanding of conservation practices and methodologies.Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015), and relevant certifications (including defensive driving, senior first aid, occupational health and safety & Growsafe certifications)Strong interpersonal skills, with experience working with, motivating, and leading a team (ideally with experience leading a team based outdoors)Commitment to safe operation of tools and equipmentDemonstrated experience in coordinating and delivering field-based environmental projectsCommitment to practising in a manner that reflects the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a firm understanding of tikanga and te reo Maori.Me pehea te tono mai - How to apply: If this sounds like you, please send through a copy of your CV and cover letter to Dylan Steeples at ******.
