As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for servicing out-placed equipment, including the installation of new machines, modification, and maintenance of existing machines to ensure equipment meets the customer's production efficiency targets. You will also be responsible for building rapport with customers throughout the organisation and providing support for customer's machine training. How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Build and install out-placed equipment (beverage packaging machines) at the customer site, including assembling and testing to defined criteria. Provide customers with mechanical and technical service on out-placed equipment, including machine repairs, overhaul, and conversion on site. Provide consistent contact and support for customers through on-site visits and ongoing communication. Provide customers with equipment training on-site to ensure that customer's employees can operate, maintain, adjust, and repair machinery. Identify the root cause of machinery issues (electric or mechanical) and develop and execute remediation plans. Partner with customers' machinery operators, technicians, and production maintenance resources to ensure effective equipment operations. Serve as an expert and support resource on out-placed equipment machines. Learn and adhere to all customer's safety rules. Develop and deliver presentations effectively to the customer. Build reports on machinery productivity and other key metrics and share with customers. Perform testing, including production acceptance tests, to ensure WestRock meets contract requirements. Build and maintain relationships throughout the customer organisation. Provide support to customers' maintenance programs. What you need to succeed: 3-5 years' experience as a mechanical engineer OR advanced Electrical, preferably in a service organisation. Preferably advanced electrical engineering skills for servo-driven out-placed equipment (beverage packaging machines). PLC experience highly desirable. Strong mechanical aptitude. Experience using Reliability tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is preferred. Proven track record of problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Smurfit Westrock is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
